Once you have your workorders raised with your customer's electricity retailer for metering, and ahead of your appointment time, you need to have your site ready to go for inspection and livening.
Your MEN board needs to be complete and compliant.
Meter board needs to be complete, have a space ready for the meter, and tails pre-wired to where the meter and Load Control Device (LCD, if any) are to be sited.
Minimum meter box size requirement is 600x400mm, we recommend larger if there will be multiple meters, or three phases plus a controlled load.
Cables need to be double-insulated within the meter box.
For pillar connections, the pillar end of your mains cable needs to have a lug fitted on the neutral wire. See Northpower pillar cable run guide here.
You need to complete a site Certificate of Compliance at site - have a paper COC/ESC ready at inspection time, or email it through to us at coc@easl.co.nz referencing the site's address and ICP number. If you show the inspector an electronic COC/ESC at the time of inspection, please also email it to coc@easl.co.nz.

If you are having an existing meter relocated, even if it's from an old meter cabinet to a new one in the same place, chances are you will need a Meter Relocate request raised with your customer's electricity retailer in order for the job to proceed. Contact us if unsure and we will be happy to advise.
If you have any questions about this process and requirements, feel free to get in touch with us by calling or texting us on 021735625 or email bookings@easl.co.nz.
If your site isn't ready as described above by the scheduled appointment time, we may not be able to complete livening. If we arrive at site and inspection fails or the site is not ready for livening as described above, requiring rescheduling, depending on the circumstances we may add a failed visit charge to our invoice for the job.
